Abstract
NCJRS, created in 1972, is a Federal information clearinghouse on criminal justice, juvenile justice, and drug policy. NCJRS resources are specifically designed to provide critical reference information to policymakers, law enforcement officers, criminal and juvenile justice practitioners, educators, community leaders, and the general public. After listing and describing three documents that can help the reader learn more about NCJRS partner agencies and their resources, this guide explains how to register as a user and join the NCJRS network. The guide then lists and describes products that keep the user up to date on the latest materials and services available from NCJRS. The guide advises that when a user requests assistance, NCJRS personnel refer the user (for quick access) to the online version of a publication developed by one of the NCJRS partner agencies, or offer to send a printed copy. Depending on the type and number of publications ordered, there may be a nominal charge to cover postage and handling. In addition to providing complete access information for NCJRS and its partner agencies, this guide also describes NCJRS fax services, the NCJRS Library and abstracts database, NCJRS online, conference support and attendance, and the Criminal Justice Editors' Group.
