This directory lists and describes 2,465 foundations and 245 corporations that provide grants and other direct support to medical or health-related organizations.
Abstract
The funding sources all have shown a substantial interest in health, either as part of their stated purpose or through grants of $5,000 or more reported to the Foundation Center in the latest year of record. Health-related grants totaling more than $755 million are listed for 371 of the foundations. The list is arranged alphabetically by State, with foundations listed alphabetically within each State. Each listing covers up to 28 topics, including the foundation's name and address, main donors, assets, gifts received, expenditures, total grants, employee matching gifts, loans, and programs administered. Other topics include the purpose and activities of the foundation, the types of support, any stated limitations on the giving program, publications, application information, governing bodies, employer identification number, and recent health grants.
