This set of 100 tables presents data from a 1975 victimization survey covering the incidence(rate per 1,000) and characteristics of personal and property (household and commercial) crime in New York City.
Abstract
Particular emphasis is given to the violent personal crimes of rape, robbery with assault, and simple and aggravated assault. Also covered are thefts and personal larceny without contact. For property crimes in the household sector, burglary, household larceny, and motor vehicle theft are covered. Commercial sector burglary and robery rates are presented by type of business and annual receipts. Relationships among victim variables and types of crime include breakdowns by victim's age, education, income, sex, marital status, occupation, and loss/expenses. Data on victim-offender relationships, perceived offender race and age, place of occurrence, and crime reporting are among others provided.
