A SUMMARY OF THE PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES OF THE NATIONAL CENTER FOR JUVENILE JUSTICE (NCJJ), WITH INFORMATION ON THE NCJJ SOURCES OF SUPPORT, PAST ACHIEVEMENTS, AND STAFF.
Abstract
AMONG THE PRIMARY PROGRAM AREAS OF THE NCJJ DESCRIBED IN THIS REPORT ARE THE ANALYSIS OF JUVENILE COURT STATISTICS, THE DEVELOPMENT OF A COMPUTERIZED INDEX TO LEGAL PERIODICAL ARTICLES ON CHILDREN (KINDEX), AN ANALYSIS OF JUVENILE STATUTES IN ALL 50 STATES AND WASHINGTON, D.C., AND PLANNED DEVELOPMENT OF A LAW SCHOOL CURRICULUM IN JUVENILE JUSTICE. THE NCJJ HAS ALSO DEVELOPED COMPUTER SIMULATION MODELS OF JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEMS, DEVELOPED A FILM ON CHILD ABUSE, ENTITLED 'BROKEN BONES/BROKEN HOMES', WORKED ON A JUVENILE JUSTICE EDUCATION CAMPAIGN USING COMIC BOOKS AND POSTERS, AND CONDUCTED STUDIES OF THE WISCONSIN JUVENILE COURT SERVICES, ENTRUSTMENT AGREEMENTS, AND THE THREE RIVERS YOUTH PROGRAM.
