Abstract
THE MULTIPURPOSE SECURITY BADGE CHOSEN BY THE BENDIX CORPORATION FOR USE AT ITS TETERBORO, NEW JERSEY SITE IS AN INSTANT COLOR PHOTO ID, WITH BOTH PERSONAL AND DIVISIONAL IDENTIFICATION, PUNCH CODED TO GIVE HOLDERS SELECTED ACCESS TO THE DATA SYSTEM, AND ALSO USED TO MONITOR EMPLOYEE TIME AND JOB PERFORMANCE, AND KEEP PAYROLL TALLIES UP TO THE MINUTE. IN ADDITION TO A FULL-COLOR EMPLOYEE PORTRAIT, THE CARD CARRIES A FULL SLATE OF EMPLOYEE DATA: NAME, CARDHOLDER'S INDEX NUMBER, PAY STATUS, HOME DIVISION COLOR CODING, EMPLOYEE SIGNATURE, THE BENDIX LOGO, AND A PERFORATED CODE THAT DENOTES INDEX NUMBER AND THE ROLE OF PRODUCTION EMPLOYEES, INCLUDING THEIR RIGHTS OF ACCESS TO THE DATA BANK.
