The 1995-1996 annual report of the Mountainview Youth Correctional Facility in Annandale, New Jersey, highlights major developments and accomplishments and contains statistics on facility populations and services.
Abstract
During the 1995-1996 fiscal year, significant developments included completion of the Amer-I-Can program by 262 inmates; the reinstatement of electronic home monitoring; and other activities related to parole, privatization, and literacy education. The facility had a total of 3,465 admissions during the fiscal year, 17 more than the previous year. The average facility population was 1,829, compared to 1,712 the previous year. During the fiscal year, 373 furloughs were granted, 50,114 visitors came to see 28,919 inmates, and 3,285 disciplinary reports were written. Information on facility administrative and personnel policies, business management activities, and State use industries is provided. Inmate services are described, including education, social, psychological and psychiatric, medical and dental, and drug treatment services. The report also covers activities related to special treatment programs, community release, community service, inmate work opportunities, public relations and volunteer services, and parole.
