Abstract
This literature search contains approximately 140 listings from law enforcement publications, 64 listings from academic publications, 56 listings of publications from popular sources, and 264 listings in a chronology of Canadian news coverage. The listings are primarily English-language publications issued from the 1980's through 1995. A few foreign language citations are included to show that motorcycle gangs are a worldwide phenomena. The citations are organized in a manner to make them a user- friendly tool for a variety of possible readers, ranging from academics and students, to lawyers and law enforcement personnel, to members of the general public. In a few cases citations are repeated in more than one section of the bibliography where relevant. Subjects addressed include the history of motorcycle gangs, their criminal activities, law enforcement responses to motorcycle gangs, the characteristics of motorcycle gangs and their members, and the psychology or sociology of gangs.
