This 1983 annual report surveys the broad range of crime prevention programs conducted through the combined efforts of the Morris County, N.J., Prosecutor's Office; the 38 municipal police departments; park police; and campus police.
Abstract
The report describes training programs conducted by Morris County, noting that it enjoys a reputation for excellence in this area. The Morris County Crime Prevention Unit gave personal safety lectures, published a home security booklet, prepared and distributed a brochure on preventing burglary at work and at home, and conducted its third annual 'Take A Bite Out Of Crime' Day. The Unit also provided exhibits for fairs, helped organizations and businesses set up crime prevention programs, and administered the Crime Prevention Resource Center. The report reviews crime prevention activities undertaken by several local units, including awareness programs, fingerprinting children, neighborhood watch, and antivandalism campaigns. Since the countywide coordinated effort began in 1981, burglary and theft have declined steadily. Crime prevention materials and newspaper articles are attached.
