CONSOLIDATION OF A CITY POLICE LAB INTO A CITY-COUNTY OPERATION, HANDLING CONSUMER COMPLAINTS ON DANGEROUS PRODUCTS, AND SERVING AS A SCIENTIFIC CRIME LABORATORY.
Abstract
EIGHT YEARS AFTER THE 1961 CONSOLIDATION, THE MONROE PUBLIC SAFETY LAB RECEIVED A GRANT TO ESTABLISH A PILOT PROGRAM ASSISTING THE SEVEN SURROUNDING COUNTIES. THIS ESTABLISHED THE PUBLIC SAFETY LABORATORY AS THE FIRST REGIONAL CRIME LAB IN WESTERN NEW YORK. INCLUDED IS A CHART OF SERVICES AND ANALYSES PERFORMED BY THE LABORATORY IN 1970 AND A CHART INDICATING THE NUMBER AND TYPE OF CASES PROCESSED FOR REGIONAL POLICE AGENCIES IN 1970.
