CALIFORNIA DRUG SURVEY OF GRADES 7-12, DESIGNED TO INDICATE THE METHOD BY WHICH DRUG USE PATTERNS COULD BE INVENTORIED.
Abstract
DRUG USE QUESTIONNAIRES, COMPLETED BY STUDENTS IN THE BLACKWOOD SCHOOL DISTRICT, SAN MATEO COUNTY, AND IMPERIAL COUNTY, PROVIDE THE DATA FOR THIS FEASIBILITY STUDY. DISCUSSED ARE PLANNING REQUIREMENTS, METHODOLOGY, PROCEDURE, DRUG USE, AND OFFICIAL STATISTICS. THE REPORT INDICATES, THAT DRUG INVENTORIES CAN BE CONDUCTED EXPEDITIOUSLY AND INEXPENSIVELY IN THE TRI-COUNTY SCHOOLS AND THAT STUDENTS WILL PROVIDE HONEST ANSWERS TO DIRECT INQUIRY. THE REPORT ALSO INDICATES THAT ONLY A SMALL FRACTION OF DRUG BEHAVIOR IN VIOLATION OF THE LAW EVER COMES TO THE ATTENTION OF THE LEGAL AUTHORITIES. DATA SHEETS AND A SAMPLE QUESTIONNAIRE ARE INCLUDED.
