The purpose of this article is to review the origin and development of the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-Based Criminal Classification System and to evaluate critically the most recent literature with regard to the system's reliability (including interrater, test-retest, and replicability), validity, and practical utility (including the characteristics and institutional adjustments of the groups and the prevalence of use of the system).
Abstract
Finally, recommendations for further research are offered. Overall, the system appears to have demonstrated its reliability, validity, and practical utility. (Publisher abstract)
