ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF THE MISSOURI DIVISION OF CORRECTIONS ARE AMONG ITS ENTRIES IN THE 1976 TO 1978 BIENNUAL REPORT AND INCLUDE ESTABLISHMENTS OF NEW URBAN CENTERS AND A PROGRAM TO SEGREGATE FEMALE JUVENILE OFFENDERS.
Abstract
PROGRAM, ADMINISTRATIVE, AND INSTITUTIONAL SERVICES ARE OUTLINED FOR THE MAJOR MISSOURI CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTIONS. THESE INCLUDE EDUCATION, FOOD SERVICES, STAFF TRAINING, MEDICAL AND RECREATION FACILITIES. CONSTRUCTION AND FUTURE PLANS ARE INCLUDED FOR SOME INSTITUTIONS. CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTIONS INCLUDE THE PENITENTIARY, AN INTERMEDIATE REFORMATORY AND VARIOUS CORRECTIONAL CENTERS, PRERELEASE, AND HONOR FACILITIES. THE REPORT NOTES THAT THE OVERALL PERSONNEL TURNOVER RATE WAS REDUCED, AND THAT MINORITY AND FEMALE EMPLOYEES WERE RECRUITED IN AN EFFORT TO OFFER EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYMENT. SPECIFIC INFORMATION ON INMATE'S AVERAGE AGE, MARITAL STATUS, MILITARY SERVICE, EDUCATION, INTELLIGENCE QUOTIENT, AND OTHER PERSONAL INFORMATION AS WELL AS INFORMATION ON TYPE OF OFFENSE, IS SUMMARIZED IN CHARTS.
