Abstract
IT IS CONCLUDED THAT THE PROGRAM HAS BEEN AN OUTSTANDING SUCCESS WITH REGARD TO SUPPORT BY DISTRICT COURT JUDGES, DISTRICT PUBLIC DEFENDERS AND COUNTY ATTORNEYS, AND THE VIRTUAL ELIMINATION OF DISTRUST AND SKEPTICISM WHICH CHARACTERIZED THE PROGRAM AT ITS INCEPTION. SURVEY INSTRUMENTS AND FINDINGS ARE PRESENTED IN APPENDIX FORM, AND SERVE AS BASIS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS INVOLVING DISTRICT OFFENDER SELECTION CRITERIA AND ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURES.
