This report discusses the operations and research and development activities of the Michigan Law Enforcement Officers Training Council during 1978-79.
Abstract
It presents the number of workshops and meetings held and the council's budget. It notes that the council includes an operations unit to oversee the council-mandated basic training system, a unit to implement career development training programs, and a unit to monitor newly implemented preemployment training. Tables present data on the number of recruits in training, the number of graduates of advanced police training by department, and the number of agencies participating in career development training programs. The council is also involved in developing a standards information system and in designing competency-based training modules. Appendixes list academy enrollment prerequisites and minimum employment standards for police.
