THIS REPORT DESCRIBES THE STATUS OF IMPLEMENTATION, AS OF SEPTEMBER, 1977, OF EACH OF 566 CRIMINAL JUSTICE STANDARDS DEVELOPED FOR THE STATE OF MICHIGAN BY ITS COMMISSION ON CRIMINAL JUSTICE.
Abstract
THE COMMISSION WAS CHARGED BY THE GOVERNOR TO ADVISE ON CRIMINAL JUSTICE MATTERS, RECOMMEND ACTIONS TO IMPLEMENT GOALS AND STANDARDS, REVIEW THE CURRENT STATUS OF EACH STANDARD, AND SET PRIORITIES FOR IMPLEMENTATION. THE 566 STANDARDS COVER COMMUNITY CRIME PREVENTION, JUVENILE JUSTICE, INVESTIGATION AND ARREST, ADJUDICATION, ADJUDICATION, REHABILITATION, AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE MANAGEMENT. THE REVIEW INDICATED THAT 265 STANDARDS (46.8 PERCENT) HAVE BEEN FULLY IMPLEMENTED, 219 (38.7 PERCENT) HAVE BEEN PARTIALLY IMPLEMENTED, 66 (11.7 PERCENT) HAVE NOT BEEN IMPLEMENTED, AND FOR 16 (2.8 PERCENT), THE IMPLEMENTATION STATUS IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DETERMINE. THE REPORT LISTS BOTH THE IMPLEMENTATION STATUS AND THE IMPLEMENTATION EFFORTS UNDERTAKEN FOR EACH GOAL AND SUBGOAL, ALONG WITH COMMENTS. (CFW)
