A DISCUSSION AND SERIES OF EXHIBITS WHICH PRESENT A CURRENT OVERVIEW OF THE CMIS CONCEPT AND THE FUNCTIONAL AREAS INCLUDED IN ITS DESIGN.
Abstract
THE PURPOSES OF CMIS ARE TO PROVIDE A STANDARDIZED DATA GATHERING STRUCTURE FOR ALL INSTITUTIONS AND PROGRAMS, TO PROVIDE A METHOD TO RETRIEVE DATA FROM THE FILES APPROPRIATE TO THE NEED FOR PROGRAM INFORMATION BY SYSTEM USERS; AND TO PROVIDE A METHOD FOR INTEGRATING RELEVANT INFORMATION FROM OTHER AGENCIES. THE FUNCTIONS OF CMIS WILL INCLUDE: INTEGRATION WITH OTHER STATE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEMS; RECREATION AND GUIDANCE CENTER PROCESSING; CUSTODY SUPERVISION ACTIVITIES; TREATMENT PROGRAM PROCESSING; PAROLE BOARD PROCESSING ACTIVITIES; COMMUNITY-BASED PROGRAM ACTIVITIES; PAROLE-PROBATION SUPERVISION ACTIVITIES; AND RECORDS MAINTENANCE AND STATISTICAL RESEARCH ACTIVITIES. EACH OF THESE FUNCTIONS IS DESCRIBED. ALSO DISCUSSED ARE CMIS DATA BASE CONTENTS AND CMIS OUTPUT REPORTS AND DATA EXTRACTION. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT MODIFIED)
