This article is part three of a series on consultants. This part discusses how to select a consultant to meet your needs. Simply by selecting a consultant, you have already decided most of what you will receive in the way of plans, recommendations, and guidance.
Abstract
Therefore, if you know what you want, you can find a compatible consultant to help you realize your goal. If you know your major need, whether it is design, system planning, or a training program, you can select someone with strengths in that area. It is vital to question and to check on performance references and to determine if your prospective consultant's philosophy is in the area of your concern. How to develop a relationship with your consultant and how to deal with an incompatible consultant or result are also covered.
