THIS EVALUATION STUDY COVERS THE 21 JUVENILE GROUP HOMES FUNDED BY THE MISSOURI COUNCIL ON CRIMINAL JUSTICE THAT WERE IN OPERATION FOR SOME PORTION OF 1975.
Abstract
THE HOME IS USUALLY A SINGLE DWELLING SET UP SPECIFICALLY FOR THE CARE OF YOUTH, EMPLOYING HOUSEPARENTS AS COUNSELORS, AND TENDING TO USE ITS RESIDENTIAL OR COMMUNITY SETTING AS A RESOURCE. THE PURPOSE OF THE INDIVIDUAL EVALUATION REPORTS AND THIS VOLUME IS FOR INFORMATION OF PAST PERFORMANCE AND TO HELP IN FUTURE PLANNING OF GROUP HOMES. THE IMPACT OR EFFECTIVENESS OF THE GROUP HOMES VIS-A-VIS INDIVIDUAL YOUTHS OR THE JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM WAS NOT CONSIDERED. FACTORS EVALUATED WERE CLIENT FLOW AND CHARACTERISTICS, GROUP HOME PROFILE, STAFF PROFILE, AND FUNDING INFORMATION. THE VOLUMINOUS APPENDICES INCLUDE SURVEY AND EVALUATION MATERIALS.
