THE PURPOSE OF THIS PLAN WAS TO SYSTEMATICALLY DESIGN AND PLAN FOR THE INTRODUCTION OF TELEVISION EQUIPMENT INTO THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA POLICE OPERATIONS.
Abstract
THE APPROACH FOLLOWED IN THE PLAN WAS TO DEVELOP POLICE REQUIREMENTS, REVIEW TECHNOLOGY CAPABLE OF MEETING THESE NEEDS, AND DEVELOPING AN OPTIMUM SYSTEM CONCEPT INCLUDING DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS, SCHEDULES, AND OTHER SUPPORT REQUIREMENTS. THIS WORKING PAPER COVERS THE ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN IN PHASE TWO OF THIS NINE-MONTH EFFORT (SEPTEMBER 1971 TO JUNE 1972) - CONFIGURATION ANALYSIS. PHASE TWO ACTIVITIES WERE DIRECTED AT COMPLETING THE REQUIREMENTS ANALYSIS, ESTABLISHING CANDIDATE MICROWAVE TELEVISION LINKS, EVALUATING POTENTIAL CABLE APPLICATIONS, DEVELOPING THE TOTAL SYSTEM CONCEPT AND SEVERAL ALTERNATIVES, AND DEMONSTRATING SEVERAL AREAS OF TECHNOLOGY AS APPLIED TO OPERATIONAL SITUATIONS.
