Abstract
DATA FROM THE F.B.I. UNIFORM CRIME REPORTS WERE USED TO RANK THE STATES ON EACH CRIME. MASSACHUSETTS RANKED LOWER ON VIOLENT CRIMES THAN THE NATIONAL AVERAGE, BUT HAD A HIGHER INCIDENCE OF PROPERTY CRIMES THAN MOST STATES.
