This 2000 Annual Report of Maryland's Department of State Police focused on the activities of the various bureaus, divisions, and units.
Abstract
After brief descriptions of the tasks and responsibilities of the superintendent's staff units, the report profiled the units under the Field Operations Bureau, which encompasses the activities and programs of each of the "barracks" throughout the State. Also described were the activities and related statistical data from Commando Motor Carrier and Automotive Safety Operations. A report on the work of the Support Services Bureau for 2000 encompassed the achievements of the Aviation Division, the Crime Laboratory Division, the Criminal Intelligence Division, the Executive Protection Unit, the Security Services Unit, the Criminal Enforcement Command, the Firearms Enforcement Division, the Licensing Division, and the Drug Enforcement Command. A report on the work of the Administrative Services Bureau encompassed personnel management and services, education and career development, information management, and equipment and facilities management. Fiscal data covered expenditures for fiscal year 2000 and appropriations for fiscal year 2001. Personnel data were provided for uniformed and civilian employees. Data were provided for traffic arrests, traffic fatalities, and DWI arrests. Also included are a list of personnel awards for 2000 as well as a list of retirees.
