This 1980 annual report of the Maryland State Police (MSP) includes information and statistics on each MSP jurisdiction ('barracks'), divisions and special operational units, personnel, and budget.
Abstract
Following the provision of information on MSP sworn personnel and fiscal 1980 expenditures, data are provided on a trooper's average 1980 day as well as obligated time. Overall data are provided on traffic patrol, traffic investigations, and crime prevention. Crimes investigated for 1980 are also indicated. Activities are described for the following divisions: personnel management, planning and research, and finance. Reports are also offered for the units of legal counsel, internal affairs, public information, and staff inspection. Offense and investigation statistics are provided for each barrack. Attention is given as well to the operations of the bureaus of Field Operations and Special Operations.
