Abstract
Following the State of the Judiciary address, delivered by the State's Chief Judge to a joint session of the General Assembly, the report outlines the Maryland judicial system. Judicial administration is discussed in terms of the Administrative Office of the Courts, education and training, judicial information systems, circuit court management services, fiscal management and procurement, judicial personnel services, sentencing guidelines, and judicial assignments. Court-related units include the Board of Law Examiners, Rules Committee, Maryland State Law Library, Attorney Grievance Commission, and Clients' Security Trust Fund. Other topics covered here include judicial conferences; the appointment, discipline, and removal of judges; and a summary of 1993 legislation affecting the courts.
