PROCEDURES FOR FIELD EXERCISES INVOLVING SIMULATED TRAFFIC LAW ENFORCEMENT SITUATIONS ARE SET FORTH IN A TRAINING AID FOR ENTRANCE-LEVEL POLICE IN MARYLAND.
Abstract
THE FIELD EXERCISES COVER STOPPING DRIVERS WHO HAVE COMMITTED TRAFFIC LAW VIOLATIONS, MAKING CONTACT WITH THE DRIVERS, AND TAKING LAW ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS (WARNING, SAFETY EQUIPMENT REPAIR ORDER, CITATION, OR ARREST). THE BEHAVIORAL OBJECTIVES OF THE EXERCISES ARE SPECIFIED, AND PROCEDURES FOR CARRYING OUT THE SIMULATED APPREHENSIONS ARE DISCUSSED IN DETAIL.
