Abstract
PARTICULAR ATTENTION IS PAID TO THE EIGHT STATES THAT HAVE DECRIMINALIZED MARIJUANA POSSESSION. ALTHOUGH SOME DATA IS IN ON MARIJUANA USAGE IN THOSE STATES, LONGER-TERM STATISTICAL INFORMATION IS NECESSARY BEFORE THE EFFECT OF THE NEW LAWS ON THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE AND HEALTH CARE SYSTEM CAN BE FULLY GAUGED. A PORTION OF THE SUMMARY IS DEVOTED TO ANALYSIS OF THE ISSUE, THE USAGE DIMENSION, THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIMENSION, AND THE MEDICAL HEALTH DIMENSION.
