These two articles and an introduction examine current issues in corporate security, with emphasis on the role of corporate attorneys in protecting the public from fraud, waste, and abuse within federally-funded projects and the tendency to litigate liability issues relating to negligent security.
Abstract
The analysis of whistleblowers focuses on confidentiality and presents the dichotomy that corporation attorneys must address in dealing with the disclosure of illegal actions on the part of clients. The discussion of corporate liability suggests that premise liability cases may be the result of an extended pattern of negligence by security managers. Therefore, security management should carefully consider a broad range of both sources and solutions related to potential liability issues. This journal also includes book reviews focusing on probation and parole, domestic assault, law violations in Oklahoma football, and the effects of public pressure for stricter crime control on the rights of the accused and individual privacy.
