THE MANUAL CONTAINS ALL PRINTED INFORMATION RECEIVED BY THE PARTICIPANTS OF THE MANAGEMENT ORIENTED CORRECTIONS EVALUATION WORKSHOP, HELD IN SAN DIEGO, CALIF., FROM FEBRUARY 17 TO 19, 1976.
Abstract
ARRANGED IN A 3-DAY FORMAT, THE SUPPLEMENTARY MATERIAL FOLLOWS THE THREE PHASES OF THE EVALUATION GUIDELINES. PHASE 1 INCLUDES THE IDENTIFICATION OF EVALUATION PRIORITIES, CLARIFICATION OF EVALUATION SUBJECT, SPECIFICATION OF EVALUATION OBJECTIVES, AND A FEASIBILITY CHECK. PHASE 2 COVERS THE SELECTION OF STUDY DESIGN, EVALUATION CRITERIA, AND EVALUATION STANDARDS; AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE ANALYSIS PLAN, THE REPORTING PLAN, AND THE MANAGEMENT PLAN. THE FINAL PHASE FOCUSES ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF DATA COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS PROCEDURES, THE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS DATA, AND THE UTILIZATION OF EVALUATION RESULTS. FOR EACH DAY, AN AGENDA, A CONTENT OUTLINE, SUGGESTIONS ON STUDY MATERIALS AND LOGISTICS, AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR WORKSHOP EXERCISES ARE INCLUDED. THE TRAINER'S PRESENTATION NOTES, GUIDELINES FOR MANAGEMENT-ORIENTED CORRECTIONS EVALUATION, AND BACKGROUND NOTES REGARDING EVALUATION TYPES, OBJECTIVES, DESIGNS, MEASURES, AND ANALYSIS PROCEDURES ARE APPENDED.
