THIS DEPARTMENT CONDUCTS A WIDE RANGE OF JUVENILE SERVICES FOR THE JEFFERSON COUNTY JUVENILE COURT, PLUS TWO ADULT SERVICES - GENERAL SHORT-TERM ASSISTANCE AND SOCIAL SERVICES TO NEEDY FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS.
Abstract
ADULTS ARE HANDLED THROUGH THE JUVENILE COURT IN CASES OF CONTRIBUTING TO DELINQUENCY, CONTRIBUTING TO DEPENDENCY, NON-SUPPORT, OR PATERNITY. THE BASIC OPTIONS AVAILABLE TO JUVENILES INVOLVED IN THE COUNTY COURT SYSTEM INCLUDE A YOUTH DIVERSION PROJECT, A PROTECTIVE SERVICES INTAKE DEPARTMENT, AN ASSESSMENT DEPARTMENT, A DIAGNOSTIC AND DETENTION CENTER, HOMEFINDING, ALTERNATIVES TO DETENTION, A HOME DETENTION PROGRAM, A PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT, AND TREATMENT SERVICES. SUMMARY NARRATIVE AND TABULAR DATA ON THE OPERATION OF THESE PROGRAMS DURING THE YEAR ARE PRESENTED.
