Abstract
Following presentation of charts showing the department's organization and staffing, a summary of Part I offenses and arrests is provided. Five-year and ten-year crime rate comparisons per 10,000 population are also given. Arrests and dispositions for adults and juveniles are summarized. Case assignments for detectives on adult and juvenile cases, clearances of Part I offenses, the value of stolen and recovered property, and traffic accidents and traffic law enforcement data are also presented. Staffing elements of the Executive Office of the Sheriff are summarized and detailed data for each of the department's four field operations divisions are given. The report also includes statistics on the department's administrative, technical services, custody, detective, and civil divisions. The cases included a total of over 124,000 Part I offenses, of which 19.7 percent were cleared. The average loss involved in robberies and other theft offenses was $875. A total of 18.3 percent of the stolen property was recovered. An index, maps, organizational charts, and other illustrations are furnished.
