This book offers Americans living overseas an effective reference through which they can substantially enhance their own and their families' personal security.
Abstract
Specifically, it provides overseas workers with an effective program by which they can analyze their own personal security situation, establish an effective personal security program, and substantially reduce personal vulnerability to a violent threat. The first section explains elements of personal security, describes dangers involved for Americans living abroad, examines terrorists and other threats, and lists sources of needed information. The second section covers analysis of one's personal security situation, ways to lower one's profile, residential and office security, trips, and security and the family. The last section on the victim considers preparing for the worst -kidnapping or assasination; handling threats, extortion, and attacks; and surviving a kidnap or hostage situation. An appendix contains security program checklists.
