Abstract
THE LEMRAS ALLOCATION PROCEDURES ARE BASED ON THE NORMAL STABILITY OBSERVED IN POLICE WORKLOAD DATA. IT IS STATED THAT WITH THE LEMRAS SYSTEM, IT IS POSSIBLE TO RESTRUCTURE BEATS TO CONFORM TO CHANGING FREQUENCIES AND CLASSES OF CRIMINAL ACTS; FORECAST THE NUMBER OF CALLS AND THEIR DISTRIBUTION OVER AN EIGHT-HOUR TOUR OF DUTY; FORECAST CLASSES OF CRIMINAL ACTS; ESTABLISH A FLEXIBLE PRIORITY PROCEDURE FOR HANDLING SPECIAL EVENTS; AND INTRODUCE INPUT DATA DAY BY DAY TO MAINTAIN THE SYSTEM'S HIGH PREDICTIVE RATE.
