This bibliography cites 82 reports on legal issues associated with family violence that were published between 1981 and 1988.
Abstract
Bibliographic entries cover elder abuse, police education about domestic violence intervention, arrests on domestic violence cases, court-mandated male batterers, battered women, and child abuse. Entries also cite documents on the child witness in family violence, personality assessments of battered women, a community approach to domestic violence, and the role of criminal court judges in domestic violence. Additional entries focus on State policies and practices related to elder abuse, court decisions on wife abuse laws, a training curriculum for law enforcement officials who work with domestic violence victims, psychological and legal dimensions of family violence, family violence resources, and Federal legislation on family violence. Other entries are concerned with feminist theory and battered women, intervention with abusive partners. The expanding judicial system role in domestic violence, legal help for battered women, marital rape, the mental health professional as an expert witness, counseling and police intervention in domestic violence, juvenile arrestees in domestic violence crimes, and guidelines to help clinical and legal practitioners who work with violent families.
