BEHAVIORAL OBJECTIVES FOR THE KINDERGARTEN THROUGH 12TH GRADE CURRICULUM ALONG WITH GUIDELINES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF LESSON PLANS ON JUSTICE.
Abstract
THE GUIDELINES ARE PRESENTED IN TWO AND THREE GRADE SPAN UNITS. THE THREE CENTRAL ISSUES ARE - A) WHAT IS JUST OR UNJUST AND HOW SHOULD WE DECIDE, B) WHAT INSTITUTIONS, PROCESSES, AND PROCEDURES IN OUR CONSTITUTIONAL SYSTEM ARE DESIGNED TO ESTABLISH, PRESERVE, AND PROMOTE JUSTICE AND HOW DO THEY FUNCTION TO ACCOMPLISH THIS GOAL, AND C) WHAT ARE SOME OF THE FACTORS THAT ACCOUNT FOR THE INEVITABLE GAP BETWEEN THE IDEAL AND REALITY OF JUSTICE, WHAT CAN BE DONE TO MAKE REALITY CLOSER TO THE IDEAL, AND WHAT MAY BE THE RESULTS OF FAILING TO NARROW THE GAP. FOR THE OTHER VOLUMES ON THE CONCEPT OF JUSTICE, SEE NCJ12559, 12560, AND 12565. FOR AN OVERVIEW OF THE LAW IN A FREE SOCIETY SERIES, SEE NCJ-12570. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT)
