This report analyzes the responses of 900 officers from Ohio's 7 largest police departments to a survey conducted in 1981-82.
Abstract
Nearly 90 percent of the officers were under the age of 35, and patrol officers in urban areas differed markedly from those in smaller jurisdictions. For example, two-thirds of the 170 female patrol officers were in large urban areas, as education, prior experience, and on administrative, patrol, and investigative tasks are also supplied. Additionally, the performance frequency for seven selected physical activities is indicated. Forty-eight tables are included.
