FINAL REPORT ON A PROJECT TO OPERATE A SPECIAL POLICE UNIT IN LAS VEGAS RESPONSIBLE FOR IMPROVING COMMUNITY RELATIONS AND FOR PART ONE CRIME REDUCTION ACTIVITIES.
Abstract
IN ORDER TO ACCOMPLISH PROJECT GOALS, THE PACE UNIT EMPLOYED CRIME ANALYSIS AND PREDICTION TECHNIQUES. CRIME PREVENTION TECHNIQUES SUCH AS PROPERTY IDENTIFICATION AND PUBLIC EDUCATION WERE ALSO UTILIZED. EVALUATION MEASURES CONSIST OF A NARRATIVE INTERPRETATION OF THE ACTIVITIES AND THE NUMBER OF ARRESTS MADE BY THE TEAM (HALF OF WHOM WERE POLICE RECRUITS). NEWSPAPER ARTICLES ON THE PROJECT ARE APPENDED.
