Abstract
Based on the view that sex offenses are learned or acquired behavioral disorders, the treatment program for sex offenders focuses on helping clients establish healthy boundaries with others and healthy ways of controlling sexually deviant urges, as well as developing in cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and social areas. The admissions coordinator reviews an extensive referral packet within 48 hours of receiving it and accepts, arranges an onsite interview, or rejects the referral within 48 hours of the interview. Treatment approaches include group therapy, sex education, journaling and self-monitoring, individual counseling, family therapy, anger management groups, community meetings, independent living skills training, relapse prevention planning, and a behavior management system.
