This 2011 Annual Report of the Lake County Juvenile Court (Ohio) presents data and information on the court's departments and programs, referrals to court programs and services, cases processed, and funding sources.
Abstract
The Lake County Juvenile Court has exclusive original jurisdiction concerning any person under 18 years old who is alleged to be a juvenile traffic offender, delinquent, unruly, abused, neglected, or dependent. The Juvenile Court also has jurisdiction in adult cases that involve paternity, child abuse, non-support, contribution to the delinquency of minors, and failure to send children to school. Characteristics of each of the aforementioned types of cases are defined. Information and data are provided for each of the Juvenile Court's departments and programs, including intake, probation, the Ohio Youth Assessment System, the restitution program, the community services program, education services, and the substance abuse program. Data for each of the Juvenile Court's activities address the number of referrals. Data on cases processed include charges closed by referral source, offense, and offender age at the time of the offense; traffic charges closed; cases filed by type, charges filed by type and by offense, and total official referrals. The funding-sources report encompasses grants, subsidies, fines, and costs; special project fees; and outside-source reimbursement. 38 tables
