This document is intended to provide police officers with the basic knowledge they need for understanding and encountering criminal street gangs in Seattle and other areas.

Individual sections describe the history of black, Hispanic, Asian, and white gangs; the identification of gang members; and techniques to use in making traffic stops of gang members.
