THE 47-PERSONNEL LAKE FOREST, ILLINOIS POLICE FORCE UTILIZED A MINICOMPUTER SYSTEM ALREADY BEING LEASED BY THE CITY GOVERNMENT TO PROVIDE CRIME ANALYSIS AND MANAGEMENT INFORMATION REPORTS.
Abstract
THE FIELD REPORTING SYSTEM FOR ALL NON-CRIME POLICE SERVICES WAS COMPUTERIZED FIRST. THE ILLINOIS UNIFORM CRIME REPORTING SYSTEM WAS THEN DESIGNED FOR COMPUTER APPLICATION. THE COMPUTERIZED CASE MASTER FILE IS ALSO USED TO PRODUCE MONTHLY CRIME AND WORKLOAD ANALYSIS REPORTS BY GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION AND/OR TIME SPAN. IN ADDITION, THE FILE IS ONE DATA SOURCE TO THE CAREER AND ORGANIZATION ASSESSMENT AND DEVELOPMENT SYSTEM (COADS), DESIGNED TO AID THE POLICE ADMINISTRATOR IN APPRAISING HOW THE DEPARTMENT RESOURCES, PERSONNEL, AND MONIES ARE BEING USED TO MEET THE STATED GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE DEPARTMENT.
