Abstract
QUESTIONNAIRES WERE COMPLETED BY FORMER INTERNS, AS WELL AS COUNTY AND DISTRICT ATTORNEYS AND JUDGES WHO HAD CONTACT WITH THE PROGRAM. ALL OF THE INTERNS POLLED FELT THAT THE PROGRAM PROVIDED A SIGNIFICANT SUPPLEMENT TO TRADITIONAL LAW SCHOOL EDUCATION. COUNTY AND DISTRICT ATTORNEYS INDICATED THAT THEY FELT THAT THE PROGRAM NOT ONLY PROVIDED VALUABLE TRAINING TO THE INTERNS, BUT HELPED THE PROSECUTORS' OFFICES KEEP ABREAST OF THEIR CASELOADS. JUDGES' REACTIONS TO THE PROGRAM WERE ALSO SAID TO BE FAVORABLE. A FOLLOW-UP STUDY OF FORMER INTERNS INDICATED THAT APPROXIMATELY 40 PERCENT HAD, AT LEAST AT SOME TIME, HELD POSITIONS WITH PROSECUTOR OFFICES SUBSEQUENT TO GRADUATION. INCLUDED IN THE REPORT ARE COPIES OF THE QUESTIONNAIRES USED FOR THE EVALUATION AND A LIST OF INTERNS IN THE PROGRAM SINCE ITS INCEPTION IN 1970.
