Abstract
THE RESEARCH WAS BASED ON DATAS CONCERNING ALL OFFENDERS PLACED DURING SIX MONTHS IN FOUR OBSERVATION AND CLASSIFICATION UNITS AT THE ADMINISTRATIONS OF PENAL INSTITUTIONS IN LODZ, LUBLIN, AND WROCLAW. THE RESEARCH APPLIED: THE ANAMNESIS, THE ANALYSIS OF PRISON FILES, THE PERSONALITY INVENTORY OF EYSENCK AS ADAPTED BY M. CHOJNOWSKI (TO ESTABLISH THE NEUROTIC AND EXTRAVERSION LEVEL), THE QUESTIONNAIRE OF WOODWORTH-MATTHEWS (TO EXAMINE OTHER SOCIAL DEVIATIONS), THE METHOD OF WECHSLERBELLEVUE (OR RAVEN) TO ESTABLISH THE INTELLECTUAL LEVEL OF THE OFFENDERS AND THE MEDICAL EXAMINATION TO ESTABLISH THEIR ABILITY TO LEARN AND WORK.
