Abstract
THE NEW STRUCTURE OF THE JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM ESTABLISHED IN SCOTLAND BY THE SOCIAL WORK ACT 1968 WHICH UTILIZES REPORTS, FAMILY HEARINGS AND TREATMENT THROUGH SOCIAL DEPARTMENT SERVICES TO AVOID COURT DISPOSITION OF CASES IS EXPLAINED. POSSIBLE VIOLATIONS OF PRIVACY AND DUE PROCESS RIGHTS OF JUVENILES IN THE UNITED STATES IF THE SCOTTISH SYSTEM IS TO BE IMPLEMENTED ARE DISCUSSED.
