Abstract
A DISCUSSION OF SOURCES OF DATA AND A GLOSSARY OF TERMS USED ARE PROVIDED. DATA PRESENTED IN THE TABLE INCLUDES THE NUMBER OF CASES DISPOSED BY SEX, THE METHOD OF HANDLING CASES, THE RATE OF DELINQUENCY CASES DISPOSED OF BY JUVENILE COURTS, AND THE PERCENT CHANGE IN DELINQUENCY CASES DISPOSED. TABLES ARE ALSO INCLUDED ON THE NUMBER AND RATE OF DELINQUENCY CASES DISPOSED OF IN JUVENILE COURT FROM 1957 TO 1972 BY TYPE OF COURT, MANNER OF HANDLING, AND SEX. INFORMATION ON THE NUMBER, RATE, AND PERCENT CHANGE OF JUVENILE DEPENDENCY AND NEGLECT CASES FOR 1972 IS GIVEN AS WELL. FINALLY, A COMPREHENSIVE TABLE LISTING THE NUMBER AND RATE OF DEPENDENCY AND NEGLECT CASES DISPOSED OF BY JUVENILE COURTS FROM 1946 TO 1972 IS PROVIDED. APPENDED IS A TABLE OF CHILDREN'S CASES DISPOSED OF JUDICIALLY AND NONJUDICIALLY BY ALL JUVENILE COURTS REPORTING FOR 1972.
