Abstract
BECAUSE OF VARIATIONS IN DEFINITION, JURISDICTION, AND ORGANIZATIONAL PRACTICES, COMPARING ONE COMMUNITY WITH ANOTHER MAY BE MISLEADING. HOWEVER, THE DATA DOES INDICATE THE EXTENT TO WHICH JUVENILE COURT IS UTILIZED IN EACH COMMUNITY. SOME 55 PERCENT OF JUVENILE CASES ARE NOW HANDLED INFORMALLY. THE RAPID INCREASE IN GIRLS' DELINQUENCY CASES IS ATTRIBUTED TO THE CHANGING ATTITUDE OF GIRLS TOWARDS SOCIETY AND SOCIETY'S CHANGING ATTITUDE TOWARDS THEM. STATISTICAL TABLES.
