This set of correlated training materials is designed for drug abuse treatment workers who must work within the criminal justice system or work within a correctional setting.
Abstract
The course first provides a conceptual framework on drug abuse and drug treatment, followed by didactic presentations and experimental labs in which participants master the generic processes used in screening, assessing, treating, and rehabilitating abusing drug offenders. The third section explores various applications of the course content to specific program areas, such as Treatment Alternatives to Street Crime (TASC), institutional programs, and reentry programs. A glossary contains definitions of specialized terms. A set of pretests and posttests developed around content material, attitudinal impact, and behavioral intentions is also provided. For specific units, see NCJ 75196-99. (ERIC/author abstract modified)
