Abstract
IT IS NOTED THAT STATE AND MUNICIPAL POLICE SUBMIT MONTHLY REPORTS OF CRIMES BROUGHT TO THEIR ATTENTION AND OF THE KNOWN SUSPECTS PER MUNICIPALITY. CONFIRMED NONINDICTABLE OFFENSES ARE ALSO REPORTED. THE ROYAL MARECHAUSSEE FURNISH SIMILAR REPORTS FOR THEIR TERRITORY. POLICE AUTHORITIES ALSO REPORT THE NUMBER OF PERSONNEL EMPLOYED PER MUNICIPALITY. COURT DATA ARE OBTAINED FROM INFORMATION SHEETS, WHICH CONTAIN PARTICULARS ON OFFENSE AND SUSPECT, ALONG WITH DISPOSITION; INFORMATION ON CIVIL AND ADMINISTRATIVE ACTIONS, AS WELL AS CRIMINAL ACTIONS ARE REPORTED YEARLY. ANNUAL CRIMINAL STATISTICS CONTAIN SURVEYS ON CHARACTER, SCOPE, DEVELOPMENT, AND GEOGRAPHIC DISTRIBUTION OF CRIMINALITY, BASED ON THE MENTIONED REPORTS AND ANNUAL SURVEYS. PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS OF OFFENDERS, SUCH AS AGE, SEX, OCCUPATION, RELIGIOUS DENOMINATION, RESIDENCE, AND RECIDIVISM ARE SHOWN. SEPARATE PUBLICATIONS ARE ISSUED ON JUVENILE AND ROAD TRAFFIC CRIMINALITY. SPECIAL ATTENTION IS PAID TO PENALTIES IMPOSED. PENAL INSTITUTIONS REPORT ANNUALLY ON CAPACITY, PERSONNEL, AND PRISONERS. DATA ON CHILDREN PLACED UNDER SUPERVISION AND THOSE PROVISIONALLY COMMITTED TO THE CARE OF THE CHILD CARE AND PROTECTION BOARD ARE OBTAINED FROM THE MINISTRY OF JUSTICE, WHILE DISTRICT COURTS FURNISH REPORTS ON ADOPTION. THE GOVERNMENT INSTITUTIONS FOR JUDICIAL CHILD PROTECTION REPORT ON ADMITTED AND RELEASED CHILDREN ANNUALLY. DISTRICT COURTS SUBMIT DATA ON THE CONFIRMED SUICIDES, WHICH INCLUDE RESIDENCE, AGE, SEX, MARITAL STATUS OF THE VICTIMS, THE MANNER OF SUICIDE, AND THE MOTIVES. STATISTICS ON BANKRUPTCIES ARE ALSO REPORTED FROM THE DISTRICT COURTS. MISCELLANEOUS STATISTICS DEAL WITH FIRES AND PATENT APPLICATIONS. STATISTICS ON THE ABOVE ITEMS ARE REPORTED FOR 1965, 1970, 1973, 1974, AND 1975. (RCB)
