JUROR WAITING TIME DATA IS MADE AVAILABLE IN COMPUTER READABLE FORM FOR THE STUDY OF THE UNDER-UTILIZATION OF JURORS.
Abstract
FOCUSSING ON 59 COURT DAYS OF THE U.S. DISTRICT COURT OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, THE REPORT CONFINES ITSELF TO THE EVENTS OF EACH CASE FROM VOIR DIRE TO END OF TRIAL. THE COMPUTER MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO DESCRIBE JUROR UTILIZATION IN COMPREHENSIVE DETAIL. CONSIDERATION IS GIVEN TO AMOUNT OF TIME FOR EACH CASE, TYPE OF CASE, AND NUMBER OF JURORS USED, AND METHODS OF ENCOURAGING CITIZENS TO FEEL THEY ARE BEING USEFUL. ALL RESEARCH IS DESIGNED TO MAKE COURT MORE EFFICIENT.
