SUMMARY OF THE PRESENT CLERICAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE ACTIVITIES IN THE MUNICIPAL AND SUPERIOR COURTS, AND OPERATIONS IN NEED OF GENERAL IMPROVEMENT.
Abstract
PERTINENT COSTS AND SPECIFIC OPERATIONAL CONSIDERATIONS OF THESE ACTIVITIES ARE IDENTIFIED, AS ARE THE STATUTES AND RULES OF COURT AFFECTING THEM. RESULTS OF THE MOST RECENT SURVEY OF ELECTRONIC DATA PROCESSING USAGE IN THE COURTS ARE PRESENTED. INFORMATION NEEDS OF THE COURTS, WITH A VIEW TOWARD AUTOMATION, ARE ASSESSED ON A PRELIMINARY BASIS. POTENTIAL ELECTRONIC DATA PROCESSING APPLICATIONS ARE DISCUSSED IN A PHASE TWO REPORT, NCJ-12107. THE FINAL REPORT OF THIS STUDY PRESENTS SYSTEM DESIGNS AND IMPLEMENTATION GUIDELINES FOR AN INTEGRATED COURT AUTOMATION-INFORMATION SYSTEM, AND IS ENTERED IN TWO VOLUMES. SEE NCJ-9987.
