Abstract
THE REPORT INCLUDES SUMMARIES OF REFORM AND JUSTICE DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES (INCLUDING RESPONSES TO GOVERNMENT REPORTS AND ACTIONS IN THE AREA OF CORRECTIONS), PLANNING COMMITTEE EFFORTS, AND COMMUNITY EDUCATION ACTIVITIES. A MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENT FOR THE YEAR WAS THE COMPLETION OF A FILM ON CRIME AND ALTERNATIVES TO PRISON. DURING THE YEAR, THE SOCIETY CONTINUED ITS EMPHASIS ON COMMUNITY SERVICES AND RESOURCES AS ALTERNATIVES TO IMPRISONMENT, CONTACTED GOVERNMENT AGENCIES REGARDING PRISON AND JAIL CONDITIONS AND OTHER MATTERS, AND DEVELOPED A RESPONSE TO A GOVERNMENT REPORT ON THE ROLE OF THE PRIVATE SECTOR IN CRIMINAL JUSTICE.
