These four audio cassettes present the transcript of the presentations and discussions regarding investigating and litigating child sexual abuse cases involving multiple victims and multiple perpetrators; the discussions were held at the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children's Second National Colloquium in June 1993.
Abstract
Speakers included Federal and State law enforcement personnel and a former prosecutor. They focused on definitional issues and terminology, child sex rings involving single and multiple offenders, and the problems caused by applying the dominant models based on intrafamilial child sexual abuse to cases that do not involve family members. They also discussed factors that can complicate case investigations and litigation, protocols that can be used informally to assist in investigations, specific investigative procedures, and issues that arise when multiple agencies are involved in an investigation.
